MORE WOMEN IN HARD HATS: HOW NEW FEDERAL INVESTMENTS CAN BRING APPALACHIAN WOMEN INTO THE TRADES
Appalachia — Women have been contributing their skills to build America since before WWII – and yet women still represent less than 5% of the construction trade and other skilled workers across most of the US. But the Inflation Reduction Act and other federal investments coming into our region present an historic opportunity to bring more women into the trades.
Join ReImagine Appalachian and BlueGreen Alliance to hear from women who are doing this work – from building skyscrapers to the halls of the White House to – about successful strategies that can expand opportunities and encourage more women to find success in these family sustaining jobs.

Reimagine Appalachia is a coalition of labor, policy experts and community leaders who are making sure that everyone who lives here can have a good job and can put down roots for the future. For months, the coalition has been pushing Congress to pass major funding packages that create jobs, rebuild infrastructure, and address fires and floods caused by damage to the climate.
The BlueGreen Alliance unites labor unions and environmental organizations to solve today’s environmental challenges in ways that create and maintain quality jobs and build a clean, thriving, and equitable economy. Visit http://www.bluegreenalliance.org.
