It truly takes a village to reimagine Appalachia, and we know we would not be where we are today without our interns!
We are so inspired by the passion, creativity, and knowledge that our Summer 2023 interns bring to the table that will take our coalition to the next level. Our internship program is a paid opportunity offered to those with Appalachian roots of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Our interns this summer are:
- Claudia Di Lima: Our Content Creator who will assist with social media graphics, blogs, video editing, and other digital media that promote our work and mission. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn!
- Violet Affleck: Our Farm Bill Organizer who will assist with research on the upcoming 2023 Farm Bill, a bill that authorizes hundreds of billions of dollars in funding for everything from soil health to food assistance for hungry families, which Congress must reauthorize this year. Violet will also create social media posts and toolkits as well as meet with legislators and community partners to to amplify our advocacy work.
- Sionainn Rudek: Our ReImagine Your Community Organizer who will work with our Director of Special Projects in launching our ReImagine Your Community initiative, utilizing toolkits designed to help community-based organizations ReImagine their communities through visioning processes that promote sustainable developments with community benefits and labor standards.
