ReImagine Appalachia held another installment of the “Make it in Appalachia” series!
We hosted a “listen and learn” session on zero waste manufacturing (circular manufacturing, decarbonization, etc.) on Thursday, December 1st at 3pm. The first half hour we heard from a panel of experts who will be responded to a handful of questions, and the second half we opened to discussion.
The questions we focused on this session:
- What does “zero waste manufacturing” mean to you?
- Why does it matter?
- How do we get there?
- Is there a role for public policy?
This panel was moderated by Patricia DeMarco, Ph.D. of Forest Hills Borough Council.
Other speakers included:
- Kristen Olmi, Chief Economic Development Strategist at KO Consulting, LLC
- Joanne Martin, ReImagine Beaver County
- Graeme Miller, Assistant Director at U.S. Department of Energy’s Midwest CHP Technical Assistance Partnership
- Christina Cilento, Associate Policy Fellow at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions
