ReImagine Appalachia Southern West Virginia’s Water Crisis

Funding coming into West Virginia from the American Rescue Plan Act has been a life-saver to communities across the state. But counties like McDowell, Wyoming, and others are being left behind.

Orange and even black water often runs from the faucets in WV’s southern coalfield communities. These areas have not gotten the funding finding they need despite urgent poverty and water system health concerns.

West Virginia Lawmakers must address the sanitation crisis in counties like Boone, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, and Wyoming! Ensuring these communities have clean drinking water will go a long way to uplifting them and ensuring the American Rescue Plan Act Serves its intended purpose.

Affected residents Betty Stepp and Diane Farmer from Anawalt and Leckie respectively will be on the call to to discuss the situation.
