ReImagine Appalachia IRA Funding Helps to Remediate Abandoned Mine Drainage in the Coal Community of Indiana County

Amanda Poole of Indiana County knows what it’s like to be a parent living near polluted waterways. She respects the legacy of coal mining and the prosperity it’s brought to coal communities, but also knows these communities deserve clean, healthy water.

Indiana County received $6.3 million dollars from the Federal Clean Energy Plan and the community is using that money to remediate abandoned mine drainage and clean up its waterways.
