Thursday, February 20th, 11 am – Frank Manzo from the Illinois Economic Policy Institute talked about Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) for infrastructure projects, a form of community benefits. They ensure projects are finished on time, at or under budget, and with a skilled, diverse workforce in a healthy workplace. This was our first Appalachian Community Benefits Network event of the year. which covered why PLAs are important, how they deliver value to taxpayers, and how they can be effectively included in community on economic development projects.
