April 10, 2025 – 12:30pm to 3:30pm via Zoom – The ReUse Virtual Design Jams are open, interactive, and collaborative events focusing on generating new strategies and services for collecting, sorting, reusing, and redistributing materials within the manufacturing ecosystems in Appalachia. Participants will respond to shared industry and community challenges and explore ways to build new resources to support the individuals, businesses, and agencies collaboratively building a new regional material management system. The three part event series will uncover new opportunities for all involved to be part of the growing circular economy.
Who should participate?
Participation in the Virtual Design Jam events is open to anyone! Whether you are an expert or have a growing interest in circularity, manufacturing, and helping Appalachia’s community and economy grow, these events are for you.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Owners and employees of manufacturing and makerspaces that utilize (or are interested in using) post industrial and post consumer materials
- Repair clinic leaders, teachers, and participants
- Makers, craftspeople, and small batch manufacturers
- Solid waste authority leaders and employees
- Teachers and students interested in learning about the issues
- Experts in circular supply chains, warehousing, distribution, and design
- Business owners interested in adopting sustainable ways to manage their waste
- Policy makers, decision makers, and advocates for local and regional economic development
